    Vol. 8 No. 1 (2024)

    The BJAS Volume 8, Issue 1 features 13 papers, including both comprehensive research articles and a short technical communication. The topics addressed are diverse, primarily aimed at boosting national food and nutrition security. The focus is on enhancing the resilience of livestock production systems to ensure better access to healthy animal-based foods. This is achieved through advancements in animal nutrition, breeding and genetics, animal health, and climate-smart practices. The submitted articles underwent peer review and were published online through Open Journal Systems (OJS) to promote the dissemination of science-based knowledge, information, and experience in the field of animal science. Additionally, researchers are encouraged to present findings from previous interventions to assess their impact and derive lessons for ongoing and future programs. The journal from this issue is managed and published by the  National Livestock Research Centre (NLRC), Bathpalathang, Bumthang, Bhutan.

    This issue of the BJAS presents 14 articles, uniformly presented in a standard international format called “IMRAD” - Introduction, Materials and Method, Results and Discussion. Some of the articles presented in this journal are full length research, while others are short technical communications covering topics on dairy, poultry, fishery, animal nutrition and health, all gearing towards addressing issues and challenges hindering livestock development.

    This issue of the BJAS presents 22 papers, some of which are full length research papers while others are short technical communications. The issues covered are wide ranging, essentially targeted at enhancing national food and nutrition security. It focuses on improving resilience of livestock production systems towards improving access to healthy animal source foods, through improvements in animal nutrition, breeding and genetics, animal health and climate smart interventions. Researchers are also encouraged to share findings based on data from past interventions so as to capture the impact and learning from past activities for continual improvement of plans and programs rolled out for implementation in the field.
